Finally there is light on the horizon for many of BetonSports customers .... many, but not all!!

Gambling911 this week reported that BetonSports has agreed to transfer all non US customer accounts and their final balance to the BetCRiS brand. The fine details of the agreement are not yet known but basically the integration means customers outside the United States will be able to login using their old BOS username and password and wager at BetCRIS.

But don't expect to make a withdrawal straight away because the aptly named "Relief Package" comes with a choice of terms.

Either

• option A which is pretty straight forward, login to your account and wager the balance 10 times to meet the rollover requirements.

Or

• option B requires customers to make a deposit equal to the balance in their account and rollover the combined sum 5 times.

Looking on the bright side, non US customers now have access to the funds they thought were lost but unfortunately US residents have no option but to grin and bear it.

Bet on Sports sent shockwaves through the gaming industry when their CEO David Carruthers was arrested in July 2006 while changing planes in the US en route from London to Costa Rica. Charges relate to racketeering, conspiracy, fraud and failure to pay taxes on the $3.3 billion wagers Bet on Sports took from US customers.

Subsequently and in compliance with the Department of Justice, Bet on Sports ceased trading with US residents, a decision which undoubtedly forced them to lose over 80% of their business interest, but what choice did they have.

Similarly and probably hoping to avoid the same faith, an increasing number of books evaluated their own operations and made the ground breaking decision to restrict US bettors from placing sports wagers with them, those books include William Hill, Unibet, Ladbrokes and Eurobet.

Strategically BetWWTS and the Betcorp White Label brands which inludes SGR  rated 5 stars Advantage Sports Betting also took a bold step and restricted US customers to internet wagering only when they withdrew the option to place wagers via the telephone.

Now focusing on the European and Asian market Bet on Sports who suffered a massive blow because of the US fiasco are regrettably no longer famed for their wagering options and odds.

At one time they operated twenty sports betting sites but now they have only three: 007Bets, EasyBets and YiShengBo.

Many onlookers question how long they can last especially when customer faith and company stability is severely lacking. An unfortunate situation for this one time respectable and highly regarded bookmaker!
