William Hill has today taken steps to cease accepting business from US clients for the foreseeable future.

The downsides of using William Hill for your sports wagers include :

• To open account you will need to deposit £2 or equivalent ;
• Payouts are processed within 24 hours ;
• No Western Union transactions ;
• Customer service is limited to telephone and email only. They do have a live chat service but it appears that you first need to register an account at a cost of £2 before you can use it ;
• Because they are a UK book the terminology can sometimes confuse, but the FAQ section should help you clarify things ;
• Due to US law restrictions WillHill will not accept sports wagers from US residents, however there are no laws restricting those customers from using the poker, casino and arcade.
