Hollywood sportsbook was launched in 1997 and with a great business model they quickly earned a fantastic reputation and many loyal customers.

Hollywood Sportsbook was a huge success and was one of the number one sportsbooks in the gaming industry. Their efforts were suitably recognized and they were twice named “Best U.S. Sportsbook” in 2005 and 2006 by the industry’s leading magazine eGaming Review. They have also been featured on CBS, 60 Minutes, CNN, Wall Street Journal, ESPN, USA Today and other media outlets in the United States.

In May 2006 Hollywood was acquired by the Sportingbet Group and all players were transferred to the World Gaming Software.

Reacting to the US Unlawful Internet Gambling Act of 2006, Sportingbet sold all of its US facing sites on the 12th October for the grand sum of $1 to Jazette Enterprises Ltd (JEL). The deal was conditional and JEL will not accept wagers from non US residents for a period of 2 years and for 3 year they have agreed not to take wagers from anyone outside the Americas.

Still on the World Gaming platform Hollywood Sportsbook hosts a casino, race book and a poker room. The sportsbook has all the basic sporting options available from football, basketball, baseball, golf, auto racing, hockey, soccer and specials.

In addition to some very attractive bonus offers the book continues to give reduced juice on all games each and every Friday.

Deposit methods are limited to just Mastercard / Visa credit card and Money Transfer.

Hollywood Sportsbook has experienced some processor problems that have led to an increase in slow payout complaints over the last year but despite the delays they have honored all payout requests.

The online FAQ section is not very informative but fortunately they do have an efficient Help center which provides live chat, email and a toll free telephone service 24/7/365.

Although they cater mostly to recreational bettors, some professional action will be tolerated but big winners can expect to have their limits cut.

Good book, good service and still servicing US bettors … Not bad !
